Hello, I'm Steven.

I’m a strategy consultant, and I've been helping Government with their trickiest problems for my entire professional life.

I help executives and leaders with the hard stuff. This means working with those in small, ambitious agencies to diagnose and solve problems getting in their way and help them prioritise the actions they need to take to achieve their goals and deliver effective services.

My mission is to lift the confidence and capability of government, to turn the dial away from the use of large consultancy firms and towards developing the skills and capabilities of teams to ensure leaders get and give great advice.

I have learned several crucial lessons in my career in the public service:

• I have learned how to support an agency to figure out what choices it will make to achieve its goals, especially when noise from competing pressures and ambiguity can make it hard to see the way forward.

• I have learned the value of relentless curiosity to ask great questions to get to the root of an issue or problem and chart a way forward.

• I have also learned the art of getting and giving great advice that people like yourself can use to drive action or change in the community.

In other words, I help you find and turn your insights into action.
